Our Story
At Launch in Translation, we're a bit old school… We believe that there are some simple yet necessary ingredients that make a top linguist. We are all native speakers. We are all highly proficient in best localisation practices and platforms. We have all accumulated years of experience in a wide variety of industries. And more than anything else, we all love words. ​

What languages do you offer?As is the recognized best practise, we translate into our native languages and as such we can offer translations into French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German. We localize mostly from English, but can also offer other language combinations, as presented in the table below. However, if you need translation into a different language, we may also be able to recommend other translators for the language pair you require.

I am a potential new client. How do I hire your services?All you need to do is fill in the form on the Get Launched page. If you only have a one off translation request, you can simply provide the projet details (content type, wordcount, delievery dates etc) in the relevant fields and upload the source file. Remember, the more information and reference documentation you can provide, the easier we can deliver and fulfill your exact needs. If you require translation work on a more regular basis, you can get in touch with us via the same form, providing your main expectations, and we will send you a quote or arrange for a call to discuss your needs.

I am an existing client. How do I hire your services again?If you would like to use our services on a regular basis, we can agree with you on the terms of our collaboration so as to respond to your specific needs. For instance, if you have a localisation cloud platform, we are happy to translate directly from it. We are also flexible when it comes to project management, in particular when it comes to queries and feedback.

Do you use your own localisation platform?We all have our own localisation platform that we can use for our freelance work. This means you can send us your content piece by uploading your word or excel file from the Get Launched page, and we will take it from there. Alternatively, we are happy to work directly from your own localisation platform, if that is your preferred process.

Do you use communication platforms such as Slack or Skype with your clients?Absolutely! Such communications tools are particularly useful for urgent resquests or for project queries. We use our own workspace on Slack and may invite you there on a private channel. Alternatively, we are also happy to be included to your own communication plafform for direct chats.

What’s your average delivery time?This depends on the size and type of the content piece you need: We will be able to confirm a delivery time in our quote, once you have contacted us from the Get Launched page. As you will be able to see from the next question on urgent requests, we can commit to delivering projects of up to 500 words within 24 hours.

Can you handle urgent requests?If you have a short message of up to 500 words that you urgently need translated, we can complete the task within 24 hours. For projects over 500 words, we will check our capacity and confirm if a delivery within 24 hours is manageable. If not, we will offer our best ETA as part of our quote.

How much do you charge?This really depends on the language pair, the nature of the work (from pure translation to copywriting and audits), as well as the frequency of work requests. We will be able to send you a quote once you have reached out to us from the Get Launched page.

Do you charge extra fees?We are not an agency but a collective of independent translators. As such, you only pay for what you get, the translator's work, without the addition of any agency fee.

How do you invoice your services?As a collective of freelance translators, we don't invoice our clients per project, the way a language agency may do, but per translator. This allows each of us to work independently within Launch In Translation, according to your needs and requests. Depending on your case, we may send you our invoices upon completion of a one-off project or at the end of the month, if we have worked on more than one project for you.

Which payment methods do you accept?Depending on your preference, we offer two main payment methods: bank transfers and Paypal.

Does your translation services include a proofreading step?Absolutely! Proofreading is an essential step to ensure the quality and relevancy of our translation. Beyond correcting typos, this helps us to make sure our texts read well and sound natural, match the required style and terminology, and complies with the project's specific instructions, for instance, when relevant, in terms of character limits. Our standard approach is to have the same person translate and proofread: this generally allows for greater efficiency and speed, and comes at a smaller cost. However, should you want to, we are happy to separate the two tasks, for an additional fee.

What happens if I need to raise an issue with regards to a project or the quality delivered?All the members of our team at Launch in Translation are experienced linguists who focus on delivering high-quality work that meets your needs. However, in the likely event that you encounter an issue or need to raise concerns, you can do so by contacting the relevant translator directly, who will then work with you directly to come up with an appropriate solution.

I am a linguist. How can I join your collective?Whether it is for one of the languages we already offer or for a new one, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in collaborating with us, please email us at info@launchintranslation.com and send us your résumé. Please note that we only accept linguists who are native speakers of the language they translate into, who owns relevant language degrees and have experience in localisation. We may also ask you to pass a language test.
